Three generations of kimono — from our family to you
Welcome to Yasuhara Kimono Rental, a small family-run kimono shop in Toyokawa, Aichi, Japan.
Our story began about 60 years ago, when my grandmother opened a kimono rental shop to help the people of our town dress beautifully for life’s most important days — weddings, coming-of-age ceremonies, and children’s Shichi-Go-San celebrations.
Today, three generations later, we still welcome every guest the same way she did: warmly, personally, and with a love for kimono.
What we believe
“Kimono isn’t difficult. Kimono is fun!”
Many people think kimono is only for very special occasions, or that it is too complicated to wear. We would love to change that. A kimono can turn an ordinary day into a special one — and we are here to help you enjoy it, from start to finish.
What we do
Kimono rental — formal kimono for weddings and ceremonies, elegant kimono for parties and outings, men’s kimono, and children’s kimono
Professional kimono dressing (kitsuke) — at our shop or at your location
Kimono styling for special events — including red carpets and kimono runway shows held at Toyokawa Inari and Zaikaji Temple
Kimono photo shoots — beautiful memories in beautiful locations
Kitsuke lessons — learn how to wear kimono yourself, in person or online
Kimono experience for visitors from abroad — come and feel the real kimono culture of Japan
Meet Yoko
Hello, I’m Yoko — a kimono stylist and the third generation of our family shop.
I grew up surrounded by kimono, and I have helped many people feel confident and beautiful in them. I also play the koto, a traditional Japanese string instrument. My dream is to share the joy of kimono with people all over the world.
